Q0190 - Why would my head count totals be incorrect?
Why would my head count totals be incorrect?

A record cannot have a null value in the Box ID (column 2 in your file layout). This breaks the hierarchical totaling within OrgPublisher. Modify the data so that all records have a value in the Box ID column and the head count summary will display correctly.

If you need to further verify counts, select Edit from the menu bar, then Define from the pull-down list. The Define dialog opens. On the Positions tab, the Position types fields with the Count fields set to Yes are included in the total head count. Verify that all Position Types required for totals have the Count field set to Yes.

If there are orphan records (that is, records where a Parent Box ID is specified, but there is no record in the database with that id as the Box ID), they are not counted in the head count because they do not display in the chart. To check if you have orphan records, make sure that when you select Options from the menu bar and check Messages from the pull-down list. The orphan records display in a dialog box immediately upon opening your .odb or .csv file.
